Rosé Freyheit 2016

Character
If Blaufränkisch is the king of Austrian reds, then this is the king’s rebellious daughter. She does as she pleases, which is often quite the opposite of what is expected of her. Despite it all, you simply have to adore the perky little impulsive wretch. Pale berried, juicy fruit unites with ethereal herbs and light-footed, citrusy freshness. Yeasty cloudiness lends a softly textured tannic edge and charismatic expression to this Blaufränkisch that has donned a breezy summer dress. Attention: for best enjoyment, shake before pouring!
Origin
Rooted in the limestone rich soils of the east-facing slopes of the Leithaberg (Leitha Mountains).
Genesis
Bottled with conscientious handcraft and great care throughout the entire life cycle. Biodynamic cultivation of the vineyard. Handpicked at the end of September and macerated overnight with the skins and stems. Spontaneous fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Matured for seven months on its native lees in wooden fermentation vats, bottled unfiltered and without added sulphur.
